Wilderness Tanzania Safari  traveling to Tanzania is a unique experience and an opportunity for an adventure of a lifetime. East Africa is one of the unique places remaining for safari game viewing which allows people to see a wide range of animals and birds. Traveling on safari allows people to experience the wonders of animals migrating, their behavior, and their Eco-system. The unspoiled wilderness and wildlife of East Africa are a beautiful setting for a safari. It is where humans and wild animals have lived together naturally for thousands of years.

Wilderness Tanzania Safari  this private 8 day Wilderness Safaris in Tanzania explores all the highlights for that part of the country. Game viewing is of course the main theme, and optional extras such as a hot air balloon ride in the Serengeti can be added. We can also amend this itinerary include some time on the beach in Zanzibar or Tanzania’s coastline

Day 1 – Kilimanjaro to Arusha

Wilderness Tanzania Safari  arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport After clearing customs and immigration formalities, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Arusha. Overnight on Bed & Breakfast at Impala Hotel, before your African adventure begins.

Day 2 – Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Wilderness Tanzania Safari after breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon of game viewing. Lesser kudu, eland, lion and gerenuk can be found in this beautiful park, noted for its multitude of baobab  Dinner and overnight at the lodge or tented camp

The fierce sun sucks the moisture from the landscape, baking the earth a dusty red, the withered grass as brittle as straw. The Tarangire River has shrivelled to a shadow of its wet season self. But it is choked with wildlife. Thirsty nomads have wandered hundreds of parched kilometres knowing that here, always, there is water.

Herds of up to 300 elephants scratch the dry river bed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons.

It’s the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem – a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed.

Day 3 – Tarangire – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Wilderness Tanzania Safari  after breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Lunch at the lodge. This afternoon, you will descend 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater for a day crater tour with picnic lunches. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food.

Encompassing three spectacular volcanic craters, the Olduvai Gorge,  huge expanses of savannah, forest and bush land, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is the flagship of Tanzania’s tourism industry.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), measuring 8,300 square kilometres, is also the only place on earth where mankind and wild animals co-exist in harmony. The NCA became a Man and Biosphere Reserve in 1971 and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979. Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Ngorongoro

Day 4 – Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park
Wilderness Tanzania Safari drive to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge, the site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man’s earliest known ancestral remains. Lunch at the lodge in Serengeti. You will have an afternoon game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5 & 6 – On safari in the Serengeti
Tanzania Wilderness Safari  two full days of game viewing in the Serengeti. Meals and overnight at the lodge in the Serengeti National Park. Here the option exists of booking onto a hot air balloon safari, that will lift off the ground at around sunrise, and take you on a magical floating journey over the vast plains of the Serengeti.

Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing.

Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle.

A million wildebeest… each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40km (25 mile) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north; replenishing the species in a brief population explosion that produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again.

Day 7 – Serengeti to Lake Manyara

Wilderness Tanzania Safari  enjoy an early morning game drive, before breakfast. Return to the lodge for late breakfast. Enjoy a mid morning and then depart to Ngorongoro Highlands. Lunch at Gibbs Farm or similar. Afternoon visit to the waterfalls. Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Manyara

Day 8 – Safari ends at Kilimanjaro International
Wilderness Tanzania Safari after breakfast, you will have a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park whose inhabitants include hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions, flamingos and other varieties of bird life. Lunch at Lake Manyara Hotel/ Lodge. After lunch, drive back to Arusha and proceed to JRO for departure flight in the evening which will conclude your safari in Africa.
