Walking in the African bush is far the better way to enjoy a close up outlook on the African bush environment, to have natural encounters with local people and access to areas not reached by vehicle. There is no better way to explore the sights, sounds and smells of the African bush than on foot. In areas where walking is allowed, this is usually the best way to spend the morning. Although one sees a greater quantity of game from a vehicle, only one can really gains an appreciation of the intricacies and complexity of these fragile ecosystems from one’s own two feet. There are no words to describe the feeling of tracking a fresh set of lion prints or having an old elephant bull walk up to investigate you… or walking along with few giraffe looking at you…

Tanzania Walking Safaris we proud ourselves in offering some of the most intimate wildlife experiences and expertise possible whilst on foot.

We are also one of a handful of companies that offers multi-day pottered walking safaris into some of Africa’s wildest and untouched wilderness areas. …These are our main area we specialize: Ngorongoro crater, Arusha National park, Ndarakwai Ranch , Kilimanjaro, Tarangire National park, Lake Natron., Lake Eyasi ,Ndutu area, southern serengeti.

On foot and in the more remote and unspoiled areas, one can pass many days with friends away from roads and vehicles in sweeping scenery. It is often in such areas that we cross paths with local people, most notably the Maasai as well as others such as the hunter-gatherer Hadza tribe and their pastoralist neighbors, the Tatoga.

Tanzania Walking on any safari is worth the effort. The areas available for walking are often more remote and less traversed by the normal tourist itineraries, if you can combine a few different elements you will get a whole new perspective on the African bush, its wildlife and people.

Doing a walking safari even for 3 hours or 3 days only, the African bush will enter your life as no other safari experience can.
