The varied ecosystem consists of ground water forests, acacia woodland and open grassland along the lake shore and sustains a wealth of wildlife, including the Big Five -lion, elephant, leopard, rhino and buffalo. The park is famous for the elusive tree-climbing lions that inhabit the woodland between the lake and the Rift Valley. It is also an ornithologists? paradise and is host to over 400 species of birds. Day 4: Serengeti National Park ( Central)

Tanzania Adventure Safari  after breakfast, collect lunch boxes and depart for Serengeti National Park. You arrive ready for an afternoon game drive in the park.

The Serengeti is probably the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world. Within its 15,000 sq km area it hosts 3 million large mammals. More than 35 species of plain animals- zebra, wildebeest, eland, giraffe, and others are found here. And so for the big five: elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino.

The park is the staging zone for one the most spectacular events in the natural world- the annual migration of wildebeest. This commences around June when over 1 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle head for the Masai Mara in Kenya in search of pasture.

They are followed closely by the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures. The Serengeti also has over 500 species of birds. Dinner and overnight Lodge/Tented Camps in Serengeti

Day 5: Serengeti National Park

Tanzania Adventure Safari  you take a full day tour of Serengeti for an encounter with the wildlife for which the park is famous. You will sometimes in early afternoon break for picnic lunch.

A million wildebeest… each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40km (25 mile) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north; replenishing the species in a brief population explosion that produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again. Dinner and overnight Lodge/Tented Camps in Serengeti

Day 6 : Serengeti National Park – Ndutu Area

Tanzania Adventure Safari  after breakfast game drive en route to Ndutu Area , with picnic lunch box game drive evening your driver take you to the lodge for the dinner and overnight at Lake Masek luxury Tented safari Camp
Each new year starts off with the calving season of up to 800.000 wilderbeest and zebra, part of the annual migration.

The place to be in February is the Ndutu Conservation Area and that is exactly where my African Photography Safari will be. The animals that trek around the Serengeti National Park plains migrate from Kenya’s Masai Mara National Park area in August and arrive here just south of Serengeti National Park in February. This is where many species of wildlife give birth prior to their migration north into Kenya. Since Ndutu is a conservation area and not a national park, driving outside the indicated roads is allowed here.

The Ndutu area in southern Serengeti is the best place to be on an African Photography Safari for the annual wildebeest migration. For up to seven months of the year, the huge herds remain in and around this area. A striking characteristic of this area is the stunning acacia woodland, which is immediately surrounded by the short grass plains. Within this wooded area is Lake Ndutu, one of the Rift Valley’s soda lakes.

Animals from the annual “Great Migration” are not the only wildlife to be photographed here. Elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard, buck, hyena, bat eared fox, and African wildcat are just a few of the species we may see as they live here year round. The woodlands also provides wonderful habitat for hundreds of species of birds and opportunities for bird photography .

Day 7: Ndutu- Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Tanzania Adventure Safari  early morning game drive, back to the lodge for branch ,drive to Ngorongoro via Olduvai Gorge where you will enjoy a picnic lunch. Olduvai Gorge is the prehistoric site where Dr. Louis Leakey discovered the remains of Homo habilis (’Handy man’) regarded as mankind’s first step on the path of human evolution. In the afternoon, drive to the Hotel at Ngorongoro Farm House..

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

Tanzania Adventure Safari  after breakfast you depart for a half day tour of the crater. The drive commences with the 600 m descent to the crater floor, a magnificent natural amphitheater. Covering 260 sq. km, the crater is an attraction in its own right and is one of the wonders of the natural world. The crater supports a year round resident population of a variety of wildlife. You will have no trouble spotting lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and many species of plain animals- wildebeest, zebra, reed buck, Thompson gazelle and many more. You will have packed picnic lunch on the crater floor. After lunch depart for Karatu. Dinner and overnight Gibbs Farm

Day 9: Lake Eyasi
Tanzania Adventure Safari  after breakfast drive to Lake Eyasi. driving down a track to the remote Lake Eyasi, one of the Soda Lakes that bejewel the Rift Valley. It is also the former lands of the elusive Hadzabe tribe, who you hope to meet up with and learn more about their fascinating culture.

The Hadzabe use an ancient dialet that is similar to the clicking tribe of South Africa.

Some of the Hadzabes still live as nomads though more and more are settling down. The Hadzabe tribe members who still living in the forest, hunt small animals that are found around the area ranging from dik dik to baboons. The Datoga people are like the Maasai, and are just as interesting.

Picnic lunch then go for Dagota village tour then back in the evening for dinner & overnight at Kisima Ngeda Tented camp.

Day 10: Lake Eyasi

Tanzania Adventure Safari  today you start off early with your bushman guide to meet a group of resident Hadzabe people. The Hadzabe are hunter-gatherers, also known as Bushmen, who speak a click-based language and move their encampments with the seasonal movements of the wildlife. Your guide is a member of the group and teaches you more about how they hunt, track wildlife , make fire and even take honey from bee’s nests before introducing you to his people and explaining a little more about the customs and the way of life. Return to your camp for lunch then afternoon proceed with the activity. Dinner and overnight Kisima Ngeda Tented Camp.

Day 11: Lake Eyasi – Tarangire National Park

Tanzania Adventure Safari  today will drive to Tarangire national Park with your picnic lunch collect from your Camp, a day game drive at the Park, evening drive to the lodge at Maromboi Tented Lodge for dinner and overnight.

The fierce sun sucks the moisture from the landscape, baking the earth a dusty red, the withered grass as brittle as straw. The Tarangire River has shrivelled to a shadow of its wet season self. But it is choked with wildlife. Thirsty nomads have wandered hundreds of parched kilometres knowing that here, always, there is water.

Herds of up to 300 elephants scratch the dry river bed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons. It’s the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem – a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed.

Day 12: Tarangire- Arusha-Airport

Tanzania Adventure Safari  leisure breakfast at your lodge , drive to Arusha with last minute shopping en route to arrive for lunch in a restaurant in the town, after lunch transfer to the Airport for your flight Home/ Zanzibar.
