Northern to Southern Tanzania Adventure tour some of Tanzania’s greatest parks on a private luxury Tanzania safari with your own guide and 4×4 Land Cruiser safari vehicle. Start in a beautiful Ndarakwai Ranch western Kilimanjaro . Then it is on to Tarangire Park with its magnificent herds of elephant. Next stop Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and likened to “Noah’s Ark” for its concentration of all different kinds of wildlife. Explore the vast game rich Serengeti and the incredible Nasikia Luxury Camp . You’ll spend three nights in the ultimate destination in the Serengeti. You’ll fly from here into Dar where you’ll overnight before you fly into the game rich Selous game reserve.
Day 1: Arrival

Ndarakwai Camp is a permanent tented lodge on Ndarakwai Ranch. With views of both Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru, the camp is nestled in a lush forest of towering fig, and yellow-barked acacias that line the seasonal Ngare Nairobi River (North). Facilities include 12 spacious tents with thatched roofs, en suite bathrooms with safari-style showers, and a large separate dining area.
Catering to a maximum of 24 guests, Ndarakwai Camp offers an intimate atmosphere where your every need is catered to. Mealtimes are flexible and can be arranged with your guide and the camp Manager. Picnic lunches, bush breakfasts, and a bush campfire & bar are easily arranged. In the evening guests can gather around either of 2 indoor fireplaces, or an outdoor campfire for snacks and sundowners. Welcome the African night, replete with elephants that ghost through the camp and the haunting cries of bush babies in the trees.
Guests can relax in camp during the day, or take in the variety of wildlife and cultural activities that are on offer. Guided full or half day walks (where the emphasis can either be on game or bird watching), game drives, and night game drives. You can also visit local Maasai villages to photograph and buy authentic beaded jewelry.
Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Northern to Southern Tanzania Adventure from Ndarakwai to Arusha, your guide will drive you to the Tarangire National Park. This commute takes approximately 3 hours to complete.
On this afternoon drive you will notice the unusually shaped baobab trees, also known as the “upside-down tree”. Look up and you might find the tree climbing African pythons. This is one of the world’s largest species of snakes, but do not worry, it is also a non-venomous species. Tarangire’s pythons climb trees, as do its lions and leopards, lounging in the branches. Swala Camp is buried in the core of Tarangire National Park, beside the Gurusi wetlands of Tanzania and where sprees of elephants and bird life spend their time. The private, permanent tents are structured to fit the comfort of home and suit the indulgences of vacation. Lavish safari-style travel is embraced here, as full silver service is provided at meals and superior wines mark the ambiance of fine dining.
Day 3: Tarangire – Ngorongoro
Northern to Southern Tanzania Adventure your guide will pick you up from the Tarangire National Park and drive you to the massive Ngorongoro crater. This drive will take approximately 3 1/2 hours.
Time permitting, there are many optional activities. Depending on which lodge you’re staying at, activities include: nature walks, cultural village visits, hike to Endoro waterfalls, bike tours, coffee plantation tours and more. Some of these can be prebooked through your destination specialist while others can be booked directly with the lodge upon arrival.accommodation: Endoro Lodge
Hanging off the edge of the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater, which is considered a UNESCO World Heritage site, sits the opulent Crater Lodge. On the eastern side of the Serengeti in Northern Tanzania, the lodge is an astonishing example of accommodations somehow built in the great African wilderness.
It comprises three separate camps totaling 30 suites of the highest standard and most breathtaking views. Dining is a gala event, where one may put on their best etiquette and flaunt the outfits that have been collecting dust when roughing it during the day. Here, one may feast on cuisine from the American chef’s world-knowledge. Activities include game drives involving visits to the Ngorongoro Crater.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
Northern to Southern Tanzania Adventure descend into the Ngorongoro caldera to view the wildlife on the crater floor. The crater is roughly 20 km/12 mi wide and 600 m/2,000 ft deep, once you’ve reached the top of the caldera it takes about 45 minutes to descend to the crater floor. The floor is home to a rich and highly concentrated wildlife.
Some 20,000 mammals of size live there, including about 20 black rhinoceros, making the crater the best place in Tanzania to see the rhino. The crater floor also has one of the highest carnivore densities in the world. Lions, cheetahs, hyenas and jackals are commonly seen, while leopards, servals and bat-eared foxes may be seen with some good luck. Day 5: Ngorongoro –Manyara – Serengeti National Park

Serengeti Acacia luxury Tented Camp is in a massive private tented camp in the Serengeti National Park, on the Serengeti Plains. As the focus of much international and media acclaim, the tents have surpassed all standards in luxury camping style, with outdoor shower and air conditioning, and simply going beyond the comforts of home. Dining is set with elegant glassware, white porcelain, and crisp tablecloths. Champagne glasses clink in the background, while animals wander the property. Activities include archery and badminton for the whole luxury experience, though others prefer a little game-gazing.
Day 6: Serengeti National Park
Northern to Southern Tanzania Adventure spend today searching out Impala, one of Africa’s most beautiful and graceful animals.
Previously thought to be part of the gazelle tribe, Impalas have been found to be so different that they are now classified as their own sub-family status. When frightened or startled the whole impala herd starts randomly leaping to confuse their predator. They can jump distances more than 10 meters (33 ft) and 3 meters (9 ft) high. Leopards, cheetah, lions and wild dogs prey on impala. Impala can reach running speeds of approximately 50 to 55 mph (80 to 90 km/h) to escape its predators. Day 7: Serengeti National Park
Northern to Southern Tanzania Adventure spend the day taking in the spectacle of the famous wildebeest migration. This annual migration through the Serengeti and Masai Mara is one of the safari highlights of Africa. The wildebeest migration moves in a basic clockwise direction throughout the year in Serengeti eco-system and move north into Masai Mara, Kenya from June/July through to Sep/October. Sightings cannot be guaranteed as the herds move according to availability of food source and migration movements can be erratic. The herds are accompanied by zebra and Thomson’s gazelle and are stealthily hunted by local predators such as leopard, lion and hyena. Accommodation: Nasikia Luxury Tented Camp
Day 8: Serengeti – Dar Es Salaam

Day 9: Dar Es Salaam – Selous Game Reserve

With the departure of the seasonal rains (summer) and the onset of the dry season (winter), the environment becomes progressively drier. In response, wildlife concentrates along the Chi, Lukula and Luwego Rivers. The dry conditions allow for easy navigation throughout the entire Lukula Selous area, both by vehicle and foot. Vegetation is low, and water is limited, providing easy spotting. Walking along the river’s sandy embankments, crossing from side to side gives unrivaled access to tracking. Fly camping (4 night stay) is at its prime in this season, with predictable weather. All camp facilities and activities are available. From August to early November, canoeing is dependent on water levels and can be limited. Accommodation: Lukula Camp
Lukula Camp embodies the spirit of early African exploration, but with simple indulgences. It draws from the influences of Frederick Courteney Selous’ camps of bygone days. Day 10: Selous Game Reserve
Northern to Southern Tanzania Adventure lukula Selous offers an enhanced wilderness adventure. Instead of a set schedule of morning and afternoon game drives, focus is on a close connection with the landscape and its wildlife. This is possible in a vehicle or even a kayak, but the real experience of Lukula is on foot led by experienced porters, trackers and professional (and armed) guides. Following the paths of buffalo and elephant forms the foundation of the day and reveals other natural phenomena. Using traditional tracking techniques and temporary “grass hides”, we can safely observe and photograph animals while leaving them undisturbed. enjoy lunch (included in tour price). Day 11: Selous Game Reserve
Northern to Southern Tanzania Adventure Lukula Selous is a private photographic sanctuary of over 300,000 acres that specialises in experiential travel – authentic life changing adventures in Africa’s last great untouched wilderness – the Selous Game Reserve which is 55,000 sq. kms in Southern Tanzania. The weather and environment in Lukula is a constant cycle of dry and wet characterised by two periods of rain that bless the land each year. The short rains usually arrive in December and are quick to fade in January. The long rains commence in mid to late February staying through to early April. The Reserve comprises diverse habitat from open flood plains interspersed with dense riparian forests that lie along the Lukula, Luwegu and Chi rivers to open savanna, which recedes to forested, rolling hills and steep ridges of exposed rock. A landscape seldom visited and unchanged by man, rich in wildlife and spectacular with nature. Wildlife sighted in the area are Elephant, Buffalo, Impala, Waterbuck, Greater Kudu, Klipspringer, Eland, Hippo, Nile Crocodile, Lion, Wild dog, Leopard, Sable, Bush Duiker and exceptional birdlife with sightings of Pel’s Fishing owl, Wattled crane, Palm nut vulture common as well as a plethora of more common species, a total of 350 recorded to date.
